The KingVFitness Story

From a young age, my Desi parents ensured I was active in various sports, from basketball to tennis. However, it wasn’t until college that I began focusing on weightlifting and muscle building. Even then, as a South Asian/Desi, I struggled with common mistakes, myths, stereotypes, generational beliefs, and excuses that seemed to hold me back from achieving the physique I was after.

After college, the gym became my sanctuary for relieving stress. I also began researching the unique challenges and misconceptions that many South Asians/Desis face regarding nutrition and fitness.

Following my first bodybuilding competition, I traveled to India to visit family. While there, I noticed a surge of new gyms and fitness centers in Hyderabad. But a few visits made it clear that some of the advice being given by trainers was not only outdated but also counterproductive. That’s when my journey truly began.

I made a commitment to debunk the myths, mistakes, stereotypes, and generational beliefs surrounding health, nutrition, and fitness in the South Asian/Desi community.

With KingVFitness, my goal is to transform the way South Asians/Desis view health and fitness, fostering a more positive and informed attitude toward a healthier lifestyle in our community.

Post college, I used the gym as a mechanism to destress. I started to research why South Asians/Desis have all these nuances about nutrition and fitness.

Once I competed in my first bodybuilding show, I went to India to visit my family. During that visit, I noticed so many gyms and fitness centers coming up in Hyderabad. A couple of visits to these gyms made me understand that these personal trainers were giving out horrible fitness and nutrition advice. That is where the KingVFitness journey started.

I made a promise that I would utilize my efforts to debunk the mistakes, myths, stereotypes, generational beliefs, and excuses regarding health, nutrition, and general fitness.

The KingVFitness goal is to change the perspective South Asians/Desis have about health and fitness, and to foster a more positive attitude in South Asian/Desi communities, encouraging a healthier lifestyle.
